About BeamMeUpScotty

Hello everyone, I'm Scott. Thank you for taking the time to peruse my posts. I enjoy writing in my free time. I work for the government, so despite what most people think I actually have work to do. Nevertheless, my goal is a 2000-3000 word chapter every Sunday. I'm sure some will be longer and some shorter, but I figure that's a good place to start. I welcome any comments or constructive criticism. . I won't take anymore of your time. Enjoy!

A Change of Pace – Chapter 58 9

<Gotta pee…gotta pee…gotta pee,> Daisy tried to think dry thoughts as she rocked back and forth in the back of the van she’d rented. It didn’t help much. It was hard to imagine the change that had occurred. The freshman final was only three days ago, and the last of […]

A Change of Pace – Chapter 59 1

The jostling impact of the plane’s wheels hitting the tarmac woke Kyoshi. In the seconds before she got control the thoughts, judgments, and trickle of emotions bombarded the young advanced mind from all sides. Mostly, people were irritated. A Change of Pace – Chapter 60 2

The flow of people through the hospital ER was average; which to anyone other than the seasoned medical personnel on staff meant it looked really busy. There were a variety of medium to serious lacerations, one sex related injury that everyone was staying far away from, and a few return […]

A Change of Pace – Chapter 61 3

“Have a holly, jolly Christmas. It’s the best time of the year…” Anika plastered a smile on her face and kept it there. <She’s cute, but she’s not that cute,> Anika watched as the entire Whitfield family belted out the lyrics and butchered the song. The entire family was packed […]

A Change of Pace – Chapter 62

“You know I’m a grown man and can take care of myself.” Topher grumbled as Daisy hovered over him. “I’ve seen what you call taking care of yourself; fast food wrappers in your truck, and overflowing laundry hamper, nothing but spoiled milk and condiments in your fridge, yeah you totally […]

A Change of Pace – Chapter 63

Daisy felt like she was having an out of body experience as she left Kevin’s house. She’d talked with the old Hero until the sun started to peek over the horizon. She needed to get back to her hotel quickly before the ForceOps surveillance team noticed she was gone. But […]

A Change of Pace – Chapter 64

The neighborhood looked like any one of the other hundred suburban enclaves around Orlando. The grass was green, even after the cold spell that just swept through the region. The palm trees were blowing in the breeze, and at least half the population was in retirement.  Somehow the scenery didn’t […]

A Change of Pace – Chapter 65

<When did I start getting so nervous?> Daisy wondered as she pulled into the hospital parking lot. Subconsciously, she’d been wondering this for a while. Since her panic attack, decertification, and drunken three-year binge across the country she’d lost a lot of her edge. She’d reacquired a portion of that […]
